Svalbard part 1 2016

The first of two back-to-back trips to this wonderful part of the world on the Akademik Sergey Vavilov. The trip was led by the man-who-seems-to-need-no-sleep-and-wears-shorts-in-the-Arctic - Paul Goldstein - supported by Mark Carwardine and an excellent One Ocean Team led by Graham Charles. The ice was quite far north but we headed there and were rewarded with some wonderful Polar Bear encounters as well as Arctic Foxes, Walrus and spectacular scenery.
