We travelled to Iceland with Mark Carwardine and Discover the World, staying at Grundarfjordur for a week. The weather was amazing with snow, gales and high seas at times, but we saw fantastic scenery and fabulous displays of the the aurora borealis on two of the nights that we were there. Here are some general photographs from the trip as well as a number of aurora images at the end. The sight of the aurora against the backdrop of snow-covered mountains was literally breathtaking, and on one night the display carried on for more than four hours.
