Buzzards

During the months of lockdown when we were unable to travel, we had a lot of fun watching a pair of Buzzards from our house and garden. In mid April we saw them adorning the nest and for the next few weeks the female sat on what we assumed were eggs. In early June we caught sight of a little pale bundle of feathers - a single chick. Watching as it grew, attended by the female and with a variety of food brought by the male was fascinating, and then as the chick developed it became more adventurous, eventually testing its wings before finally taking its first flight. It stayed near the nest for a few days, demanding food constantly, and we were sad, but sort of happy, to see it finally leave the nest. Some of the images taken when the chick was tiny are quite heavily cropped as the nest was some distance away, and there was no nest disturbance at all.
