Baffin trip 2, 2014

The second of two back-to-back expedition cruises with Mark Carwardine and his amazing team, on board the Akademik Ioffe. We had marvellous encounters with whales, both Bowhead and Narwhal, as well as polar bears, seals and seabirds. The absolute highlight was the sight of over 150 Narwhal swimming close to the shore where we were standing. At one point several males were displaying their tusks to spectacular effect - a truly unforgettable experience, and one that very few people have ever seen.
